St. Patrick's Day is only a couple days away! And I wanted
to create something special for the kids to wear.
I was originally wanting to make some cute shirts...
but I never got around to getting the stuff I needed,
or the motivation to start them. So I decided to create
something else that I could do in a few minutes!
What about you?
Need a quick way to pinch proof your kiddos?
Or yourself!? :)
Well then Ive got the perfect quick little tutorial for you! :)
I am going to be showing you how you can make these
adorable clover ribbon sculptures, that you can add to a
hair clip or pin back! :)
THE SUPPLIES:
Thin Green Ribbon
Glue Gun
Little Rhinestones
Alligator clip or pin back.
First I made the heart shaped looking clover.
FIRST: Cut four 4 inch strips of green ribbon.
Then add a little hot glue to the center and pinch close.
Next pull the ends together and secure with glue to make this
heart shape.
Do this with all four ribbon strands.
Glue hearts together at center as shown:
Add rhinestone to the center with glue.
You will want to line your alligator clip so that you can use
it as the clover's stem.
Once its lined, glue your clover to the end of it, and thats it!
I knew I was going to make more, one for each kid. So,
I made another one, but instead of putting it on a clip, I just
cut a strip of ribbon, glued it to the back to use for the stem.
Then I glued the pin back to the back of the clover, to make a brooch.
This is how it should look from the back:
After making two of the heart ones, I decided to create a simpler
clover, and just did a simple look for the clover leaves:
After that, you follow the same steps,
I put a pin back on this one too for Zander.
I put the pins on the boys:
(Zander in blue and Brucey in black)
Of course Zander was grumpy... he wasnt too into having
that green thing on his shirt! HAHA
he kept saying 'Oaught, oaught' (his way of saying "off")
he kept saying 'Oaught, oaught' (his way of saying "off")
And Brucey was being camera shy.. grr...
I finally got them both to look at the camera!
Not exactly picture perfect, haha, but close enough.
Kiah, of course, got the clip! It looks adorable in her hair!
She is excited to wear it to school on St. Patrick's Day! :)
Way cute. I love a quick make!
ReplyDeleteAwww, my princess will just stick to her GREEN froggy,,, that should def do the trick. I especially love the heart clovers though, very cute.
