It's a Cinch... or is it? {Outfit Post}

So last time I did a post like this I asked the question
Being a bigger girl... I feel kind of self conscious dressing in some
of the latest style and fashions..
I don't always feel like I can pull them off like other girls can!
Don't get me wrong, I still try to dress my best and want
to look nice. But things like Skinny jeans are some what, out of
my comfort zone! Fortunately I got so many amazing
and encouraging comments and compliments from that post...
So with that to go on and with Nina of Momma Go Round to be inspired by..
With her "Real Momma, Real Style" Posts and Linky Party,
I have been wanting to step out of my comfort zone more often.

Today I am trying out the cinched waist look!
I have always LOVED this look

On OTHER people!

I have all the high hopes of feeling and looking good when I
put one on..thinking this look would be a cinch to pull off...
but then feel so self conscious as soon as I do!
Between my large breast size and my love handles...
I feel like a belt only makes my fat bulge out more..
and honestly gives me a sick to my stomach kinda feeling.
Yes.. Im THAT sensitive about my weight.

But I decided to be brave and just go for it.
Im a bigger girl, and there is no hiding that.
Ive got 3 kids, and a busy life!
My weight goes up and down more than a roller coaster!
That doesnt mean I should let myself go and give up.
So here I am....
(sorry bout the crummy pix, I always use my cell for self portraits.. its more convenient
If I wasnt so shy about it, Id ask the hubs to take some pics... maybe some day.)
Belt, Cardigan, Ruffled tank top, and jeans all from Torrid  I love that store!

Here is a "birds eye view" of my outfit.
You can see why I hardly do any pulled back shots of myself..
and mostly only facial close ups!
My boobs... ahem... breasts seem to just take over the picture!
This shot is pretty decent, but most pictures I have to crop
for the sake of modesty! :)

Looking now at the pictures Im feeling a little more confident.
I guess they arent sooo bad...
At least not as bad as I was seeing myself in my mind.
I accessorized with one of my FAVORITE headbands

Over all...
I think it was a cute outfit, and even though I wasnt sure I could
pull it off, I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone.
I know I have a lot of insecurities to work on, and conquer...
One step at a time, right? Who is with me? lol

So Im thinking the NEXT thing for me to work on is
stepping out of my COLOR BOX!
I tend to mostly wear black and grey.. and if any color.. its PINK.
You all know I love me some pink... of anything! :)
So... I'll be working on color next.

Now I would like to hear from you!
What are you thinking about the belted look?
Its is a cinch for you or not?
I know Im not the only one with clothing insecurities.. what are yours?
How are YOU stepping out of your style comfort zones?
Well if you decide to post about it.. be sure to link up here:

  1. I'm shy too! I never ask my hubby to take pics of me! He'd probably love it... but i'm not there yet!! You look beautiful!! Wear what makes you feel good about yourself. Bottom line. Don't bother what other people say. If you feel good and pretty... that's all that matters!!

    the mrs.

  2. Looking good. I understand about "the girls" making the cinched look feel strange. I think being short and stacked can make a girl uncomfortable with emphasizing these points. I have found that a skinny belt is my preferences when cinching. It gives the look with a little less emphasis to my bust line. I don't ask my man to take photos either. I just know he will have a silly comment or three.

  3. Ive thought about the thinner belts for the cinched look.. I kinda feel like, being a bigger girl, the thin belts would look ridiculous on me.. and wouldnt match up with the rest of my body. LOL WHo knows.. I will have to actually try it and see if it works.. Maybe it will be better than I think! :)

  4. You are awesome! I love that you broke out of the zone and tried something's always so hard. You are better than me...I have been too afraid to try the big belt and have only done skinny. We just need to trade:) I think you look adorable... Congrats!

  5. You pulled it off girl! Looks great! Love your headband too!

  6. I think it looks great!! And i doubt i could ever pull anything off like that. I too have always wanted to but just been too afraid to pull anything off like that

  7. I think you look fabulous!! I know all too well the issues with weight all my life. When i was at my heaviest weight i had AMAZING self esteem and then in my mid 20s i was at a rough patch in life and starved myself down to a size 12 plus worked out 5 days a week maniacally. It killed my self esteem and my self image has never fully peaked to what it used to be, 8 years later and I'm still working on it. It's not the weight that needs to be addressed, its your view on yourself and you my dear are stunning! The outfit is lovely as well and you wear it very well! Trust me i could go on and on with this comment but own your curves and own your beauty. If you feel good in something the world will know and that will shine through - confidence :)

  8. I'm not a fashionista by any stretch, but I think you look great... I don't have cable anymore, but if I recall from What Not To Wear, isn't focussing on the thinnest part of your waist one of those good things to do? Go for it!

  9. you rock that outfit. I guess for my insecurities would be hats...I LOVE hats but I don't think I look good enough wearing them. I own about five hats and would love to wear them more often...they are just so cute, but my insecurities keep from wearing them as often as I would like. I need to step out of my comfort zone too!

  10. Oh my gosh, I love your blog! I just found it on the Pleated Poppy and I am so glad I did! Now following!

    Hope you'll follow back!

  11. YOU look BEAUTIFUL my dear! Hot pink is definitely your color! I agree with the above posts, where what YOU feel comfortable in, you know your body better than random people do...but as one of those random people,I will say again, this is a great look for you. :0)

  12. You look super cute in this outfit!

  13. You look beautiful! I know what you mean about not being sure about some of the fashions smaller girls wear. I am too big to wear skinny jeans and I usually wear bootcut so my version of skinny is straight leg jeans. And I do love the striped shirts that are so popular right now. I think I shouldn't wear them because horizontal stripes make you look bigger but honestly, anybody who has seen me before already knows I'm a big girl.

  14. I think you look SUPER CUTE! I found this on WIWW link up and I am so glad I did. I am a bigger momma too and I KNOW what it's like trying new things. We just have to all get over ourselves and keep stepping out of those comfort zones. Besides, if we all do it together, then it won't be so scary :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your thoughts with me!
