Hello Kitty Bow Hair Clip Tutorial & Pin The Bow On Hello Kitty Game !

Good Monday to you all!! Hope your weekend was great.
Mine was good, but went by way too fast! I was super sleepy today and even took a nap.
A NAP! So weird.. I never nap, Im never tired during the day..
but I guess my 6 am to midnight schedule has finally caught up with me. ANYWAYS....
Today I realized that I had never finished sharing with you all the fun Hello Kitty creations I made for my sister's baby shower! Nor did I share the pictures from the shower either.. so today I have a two-fer for ya. :)
First, I have a cute and easy tutorial on how to make your very own Hello Kitty like Bow!
See we decided to make and give out hair clips as favors for coming to the shower.
So I knew I HAD to include some cute hello kitty like bows. Here is how I created this adorable one.

 Supplies:
Red or Pink Fabric
Scissors
Glue Gun
Alligator clip
Button kit

To start go ahead and create your button using a small bit of fabric and the kit.
If you are not sure how to do that, you can see a tutorial I posted {here}.

After that is done, cut a 4in by 3in rectangle out of your fabric.

Then fold and glue as shown:

And...

Cute a small strip of fabric to wrap around your bow.

So to get a cute bow look, take your fabric in hand and pleat and pinch as show in the photo. Add some glue to keep steady. Then Glue your small strip at the back, wrap all the way around and secure it with glue.

Then glue your button on. This way your adorable bow is made to look like Hello Kitty's bow with a round center!

Glue to the alligator clip and you are done!

Stick in your hair and look adorable! :)

Ok so aside from the cute Hello Kitty Bow, I also wanted to share this quick  game I came up with for the shower!
I know that "pin the tail on the donkey" is a child's game
but I still thought it would be fun to do a twist on it for those willing to play.
So I created this Pin the Bow On Hello Kitty Game!
I also made that Hello Kitty Hair Bow Holder as a gift for my new niece!

So to create this game was SUPER easy.
All I used was markers and 2 poster boards!
On the first I did a rough sketch of Hello Kitty
On the second poster I drew out several different colored bows (different colors for each player) and cut them out. Then we simply used glue dots for sticking them on.

Here is a look after the game was over. :)

It was a definitely a fun throw back to childhood..
which was perfect since this is a baby shower and we are celebrating new life after all! :)
But wouldnt this also be a fun idea for a little girls Hello Kitty Themed Birthday Party?

Much Love & Hugs,

  1. I love this! I am so bad at making bows! For some people it's zippers, others it's armholes...me...BOWS are my downfall. :)
