Today I am very happy to welcome Amanda of Royal Daughter Designs to Agape Love Designs!!
And just a heads up... I am also being interview by Amanda today!
After you  read this interview, head on over to her blog to read mine!

Can you tell us a little about yourself, your blog, and your shop?
I’m a country girl who married a city boy. After a country wedding (6 ½ years ago!), a move to the big city – for his school, we finally settled down on eight acres in in the middle of nowhere. At DAES of Our Lives I blog about country living, my quest to better health (over the last year I have reversed my symptoms of fibromyalgia), and our newest adventure of becoming a first-time mom to three foster boys, ages 10, 11, and 15.

I also have a graphic and blog design business, Royal Daughter Designs. Starting on November 21 RDD will be hosting ChristmasOrnament Countdown: 30 days of handmade ornaments and holiday decorations. If you have a DIY ornament idea, I would love to show off your mad ornament crafting skeelz! Would you consider partnering with me for 30 days to share some of your awesomeness? You can find all the deets here.

How did you first get involved with blogging?
I started blogging after my husband and I moved to Fort Worth, TX for him to go to school. Like many bloggers, I initially started blogging to document the adventures of being newly wed, and to keep our family abreast of the latest news.

Of course you know how it goes. You meet a couple of blogging friends here, enter a giveaway there, and the next thing you go you have a whole network of blogging buddies.

In September I launched Royal Daughter Designs, just ‘cause I wanted to keep my business blog separate from my personal blog.

What has been the most challenging moment in being a blogger?
source
Time management. 100%. I could easily spend a huge portion of my day reading blogs, commenting on blogs, entering giveaways, looking for inspiration, and writing posts for my own blogs. And it’s so easy to justify it too, ya know? I have an online business after all, that means I’ve got to be online and make my presence known.

But the truth is, my first priority is my faith. My second priority is my husband. My third priority is our foster boys. My fourth priority is my education (yeah, I’m a graduate student too.) And somewhere down around priority number 10, is my business. Don’t get me wrong, it is absolutely a top priority. But it is not the top priority. I cannot let my other priorities be neglected.

Everyone has a favorite/least favorite post. Name yours and why.
My least favorite post is this one. Back before there were reality shows about being coupon clipping queens, I  was an extreme couponer. And for some crazy reason I decided to post a list of coupons on my blog. Um yeah, that’s been done. About a zillion times. What a waste. of. time. Oh yeah, and the post is boring.

My favorite post is probably this one. Although it was written a while back, I often think back on that lesson on learning to have a servant’s spirit. It was actually one of those lessons you hold on to for a while.

Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
Pretty much anyone who runs a home-based business + manages kids + nurtures their marriage is an A+ person to me. But there are a handful of bloggers that I would skip shaving my legs in order to read:

Jessi at Naptime Diaries is one of my favorites. She is raw. She is real. She is engaging. And she is incredibly sweet.

Mandy at Biblical Homemaking. Besides the fact that I maybe sometimes envy her hair…I love her Thursday Laundry Room Devotions. She also has great before and after photos of the long and laborious task of remodeling their house. (She's also the only blogging friend I've ever met in person. We live about an hour apart and I ran into her one day at Hobby Lobby!)

Chelsea of Name Your {Joy}. She connects with me. Somehow, someway, having never met, the words she types out on her computer show up on my computer screen and pull me in.

Jami at Call Me Blessed. I love We Encourage that happens every Tuesday. (The only linky party in which I regularly participate!)

Jess of The Macs. After losing their daughter Cora to cancer a few years ago I’ve followed Jess’ journey through grief, faith, and becoming a mother again. She writes beautifully.

I could seriously go on and on. I’m a stalker follower of 5 Days, 5 Ways, Sincerely Kylee, and Kelly’s Korner too. And women who are out to change the world (like Ashley and Laura) are always an inspiration.)

You can see why time management is a problem for me, no?

What Social Networks are you on?

Is there anything you know now that you wish you knew before you started blogging?
I think it’s a lesson that you can only learn once you branch out into the blogging community, but I really had no idea that I would become friends with women that I’ve never met, and may never meet. There are a few who know just the right words to encourage me. There is one who shares my secret fears. If I had known that such deep friendships would form, I would have gotten started a lot sooner!

If you’re thinking about starting a blog, go for it! You have nothing to lose (except maybe some time, as noted above) and a whole world of friends to meet and make!

What has been the best thing about blogging so far, feel free to share any exciting triumphs or milestones you have had or reached! :)
The best thing about blogging so far has definitely been the friendships. As for triumphs, on October 1,2011 I started a 31 day challenge to blog about one topic for 31 days. I love the fact that I’ve actually stuck with it. It’s not about the followers I’ve gained (although that is a plus), but what really makes my day is knowing that I’ve inspired someone to change their life. That is such a satisfying feeling!

Thank you Maria Isabel for having me here today! You are such a treasure and I'm just tickled to be a part of your beautiful blog family today!
