DIY Rosette Statement Necklace

My 10 Year High School Reunion, was Saturday!
And as I mentioned in my What I Wore post, I made the statement necklace that I wore. :)
So  today I am sharing with you all the do it yourself.
Supplies needed:
Fabric♥Various chains♥Rhinestone chains
Metal Cutters♥Flat nose pliers♥Jump Ring/Lobster clasp
Glue Gun♥Glue Sticks♥Felt
First thing you need to do is make your rosettes.
I know most everyone and their momma know how to make fabric rosettes
SO I didnt do a tutorial for them. But if you are someone that doesnt know how to make them,
there are tutorials all over the internet for them!
This is one I found that I believe is one of the best: Rosette Tutorial.

You can create what ever amount of rosette's you need for the look you want.
Feel free to get creative and make them various sizes too.

Aside from the time it takes to make the rosettes... the rest of the necklace is quick & easy!

First, arrange your rosettes in the shape you want for your necklace.
To keep the shape use your glue gun to glue each rosette to each other side by side.

Next play around with chain.
Drape it over, around your rosettes to get an idea how how you want it to look.
I played around with the chains and rhinestones a little before deciding how I wanted it to go.
Then I took a picture to remember how it looked because I had to take it all off in order to glue it.

After that I used hot glue to glue the chain to the back of the rosettes and draped over the front.
Then I hot glued the rhinestone chain around the rosettes too.

After you have all your chains glued down, apply glue all over the back of the rosettes
and then stick to some felt so you have an even backing!
Then just trim the felt.
Originally I wasnt going to add a clasp...
But the necklace hung longer than I wanted, so I decided to cut and shorten it and attach a clasp:
Thats it, some fabric rosettes, some chain, rhinestones, glue and a little imagination!
And you have an easy peasy statement necklace to adore!
I just LOVE how it turned out and I got many many compliments about it at the reunion! :)

This necklace can be made several ways...
I am already considering making more which the chains in different styles and
the rosettes in different various shapes!

I hope you make one for yourself and show me how you put YOUR creative spin on it! :)
