I posted this to my instagram, but wanted to elaborate on it more and also share it here with my blog readers. ♥
Much Love & Hugs,
Here is a little before makeup beauty shot. I must admit I prefer to wear
makeup and cover up my flaws and enhance my best features, but I'm
learning to be more comfortable and confident in my own skin... Without
makeup, with out enhancers.
If you know me, you know I love makeup. I
love fashion and clothes. I love beauty products. And I like getting all
"dolled up" as The Hubs would say, every day! Its fun for me. I do it
because I enjoy it and I do enjoy how I look in the end. But I know that
clothes and makeup don't define me or my beauty. Beauty comes from
within.
A lot of you see me as super confident. That's not always the case. People will compliment me on my "flawless" skin, my "beautiful" eyes, my "perfect pout", and my over-all appearance. Im not trying to brag, I just want to make a point. These are real true compliments I have received, and I am sure (at least I would HOPE) that you reading this are also no stranger to compliments either! But let me ask you a question...

These are real true compliments I have received, and I am sure (at least I would HOPE) that you reading this are also no stranger to compliments either! But let me ask you a question...
How many of you after receiving a compliment like that feel more confident? And how many of you just want to disagree with them? I bet the majority of you (if you're like me) tend to want to disagree! If you're like me, you may even tend to feel insecure! Like for me, when someone mentions my skin, I instantly think of how Ive been breaking out lately, and "oh they wouldnt think that if they saw me without this really great cover-up on! My pores are HUGE and I really hate my nose."
When someone mentions my eyes, I instantly think of my horrible dark under eye circles. My smile? I think about my crooked teeth, and the fact that I still have a baby tooth in front... That depending on the angle sometimes looks like a MISSING tooth! :( Notice I usually position my head at a certain side or angle in most my pictures!? Yeah that's why!
Its easy to get caught up in putting ourselves down, and believing the lies. But we need to STOP THAT! Accept the compliment(s) and feel more confident. I will say this again. Cliche or not, this is true ladies... So listen up! True beauty comes from within. It comes from the love and glory of God shinning out of me. When
God made me (and all of you) He didn't make any mistakes. In His eyes I
am (and all of you are) beautiful as is. And for me or any of us to disagree with Him on that is just
silly! :-)
My desire is for all of you out there to KNOW that. That you
are beautiful just as God made you. That you are precious in His sight.
You are the beautiful little apple of His eye. You are loved and of worth to
He who created you! So walk today (and tomorrow and the next day) with
confidence and your head held high, my sweet friends! ♥

You are truly beautiful, makeup or not. And absolutely correct, God made you Uniquely You, no one else can be you. It's hard to not get caught up in the "way we should" look, in today's society especially, but true beauty does come from within. Great post! Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteWell said! Thank you so much for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteGreat post dear!!! I agree ! We are children of God and he loves us all no metter what! Its time to Love ourselves too!!!!!! If you dont love yourself, how could you Love someone else!)
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy Birthday to your sweet girl!)
Golly Maria,
ReplyDeleteWithout your makeup I TOTALLY see your daughters eyes. She has your eyes big time, and right now as I was looking at your pics, I felt like I was looking at her. So sweet!!
I usually walk around without makeup, and not only is it convenient, but I've become very comfortable in my own skin as a result. Sure I love how I look when I pretty myself up, but I feel even more beautiful sometimes, after a good workout, all sweaty, rosy cheeks and all. I just feel strong, and healthy.
I think you are gorgeous as always, and if you can, go all natural as much as possible. Do a little lip gloss, and call it a day. You just might become more comfortable in your own skin too :)
Oh and have you had a chance to come see my 40 day challenge? I've been taking pics of myself every morning, along with everything I'm eating. No makeup girl, all natural. REAL me. It's nothing special, but I'm trying to be as real as possible. I'm trying, and I know you can appreciate the hard work. You really inspired me mama, and hopefully I can accomplish some AWESOME results like you too!!
Hugs, Bella :)

So very true. We are made in His image. We don't need to be insecure, however, our bodies ARE temples that we should care for. It's all about balance. :)
