Joyful, Patient, Faithful.

Be JOYFUL in hope.
Be PATIENT in affliction.
Be FAITHFUL in prayer.
Romans 12:12

This has been my prayer for myself lately. I think it needs to be my life verse. Seriously it sums up perfectly the way I need to be living. I'm not always these things, but I want to be. Things that I want so much to describe who I am. How I am remembered or thought of. And more than that they are what I NEED to be.

I'm not always the person I want to be. I'm not always joyful, I can find myself being consumed with bitterness, and grumpiness. I can find the bad and fault in anyone and anything. Ew what an ugly quality to have right? I don't want to be that way anymore, or look at things that way. I want to see the way God sees. And love the way God loves. Of course I wont be naive to the bad, but I need to stop dwelling on it. I want to find the joy and be joyful too, a lot more often than I have.

I'm so not as patient as I would like to be. I'll admit I'm getting better and I have been catching myself a lot lately and having to apologize A LOT. Mostly to my kids. You know when you pray to God as ask for patience, he doesn't just GIVE you patience, he gives you opportunities in which to show patience. And boy have I failed a lot at those opportunities. But at least now my eyes have been opened to see them that way. As opportunities. And I am getting better.

Faithful. I'd like to think of all these things, this would be the one I am best at. But we can always be more prayerful. I love that my beautiful friend Andrea, has committed to being more prayerful. She has text me and even put a call out on facebook asking for prayers, that she keeping track of. What a wonderful prayer warrior she is. And what an example she has set for me. ♥ Love her. My friends, prayer is powerful. I know I need to also commit to be faithful in prayer like that. I dont think there is such a thing as too prayerful. ;)

Proverbs 4:23
Above all else, guard your heart for everything you do flows from it.

THIS verse has been my prayer for my daughter (And all my children/nieces & nephews really) lately. I know the pressure to stay pure is hard for kids these days, I can hardly believe the stuff Ive seen online from children these day! Its shocking and awful. I know that makes me sound so old - I don't care. So my biggest prayer for my children is this; to guard their hearts. There is so much temptation in this world. Being respectful, modest, having manners and such seems rare these days. I'd like my kids to stay among the minority there. Anyone else?

Anyways... So I bought these necklaces as pretty little reminders for us. I have very much so fallen in love with just about every item from Show & Tell Faith Jewelry. And you all know how much I enjoy jewelry that has meaning. If you are like me, you may want to check them out. ♥
