Nude Sunrise EOTD

Happy Friday Friends!
Today I have a new "Nude Sunrise" EOTD (Eye Of The Day) for you.
I'm using The Balm's Nude'Tude Palette. I purchased my palette via HauteLook (referral link) for half off!

As you can see in the photo above, the colors I used for this look are:
 Sassy, Snobby, Stubborn and Sexy.
And I used my MBA Shadow Poxy Primer as a base.
You all know I love color!
I love very vibrant colorful eyes.
And I know that for a lot of you, bright colorful looks are a little scary!
So I wanted to share a look that was colorful in a subtle and (hopefully) a less scary way.
What I love about the nude'tude palette is that even though the colors are rich and shimmery, they show up mostly matte. So the looks you can create with this palette can be really dramatic as well as very subtle too. So what do you think? A little less scary? Would you try this look!? ♥

Why I Love e.l.f. Cosmetics (Ordering Online)

Hey friends! Today I just wanted to share a sort of "haul" type of post.

I've always told myself I'd never be a "haul" type of girl.  I dont believe in encouraging others to spend a lot of money. And I myself hardly ever have the money to spend on haul's! SO I thought to myself I'm never gonna be that kind of blogger! BUT being the "drug store diva" and "shop on a dime" kinda gal that I am, I decided to share this post (yes in sort of a haul type fashion) on  why I just LOVE  e.l.f. cosmetics and ordering from them online!

Firstly the thing is, e.l.f. is SUPER inexpensive. I mean their products are affordable for EVERY budget! But they price does not reflect the quality at all. The quality is top notch, and I highly recommend to everyone. Let me just pause for a second, and say that no this is NOT a sponsored post, and no none of the links are affiliate links (though they probably should be! ha). I just want to share, because I just get so excited over their products and LOVE to share a good deal.

Many of you may already know about e.l.f. but I confess that I was an e.l.f. newb just last year. I heard about them, but never really looked into their products, until one day I saw that they had some kind of deal going on if you purchased online. It was something like get a 12 piece brush set FREE with orders $20 or more. FREE always intrigues me, so I checked them out. I was shocked at the low prices. SO I grabbed a few things to try, and added the code for my free brushes.

When my e.l.f. package came it felt like Christmas, the amount of items I was able to get with such little money was shocking to me, PLUS the free gift, and I wondered to myself why I hadn't discovered them sooner! haha I decided to sign up for their newsletter to always be in the know about the deals they have... And they usually have a new deal each week. My only complaint is that they do send A LOT of emails/reminders each week. But I deal with it, because I like to know when there is gonna be a deal that I want to get in on.

So now I only order when there is a deal that I just cant pass up! Here are a few I have gotten in on through this past year. Top is what I purchased, and bottom was what I got for free! Most deals are like Spend $20 or $25 and get "such and such" free. This one was spend $25 get a "Girl On the Go" set for free:

This one was spend $25, get a surprise grab bag of items worth $25 for free:

This one was spend $20 and get Someone's Favorite Picks Free. I cant remember who's favorite picks it was, but I loved her choices, so I went in on the deal. ♥ Also in the "what I bought" photo, I bought TWO of the mineral blemish powders, only one is shown cause I ran out of my current one and it was in my makeup bag!
As I said, every e.l.f. package feels like Christmas to get all the goodies you ordered, plus all the freebies! And at such a low price, I just cant resist! So I'm sharing with you all, because I cant resist telling everyone about amazing deals! So if you have never tried elf or ordered online, I definitely recommend. Especially if you love makeup but not spending a ton of money for it!!

To date, my absolute favorite items and constant re-orders are:

And for good measure, here are a couple keeks of why I love e.l.f. ♥

A Peek Inside My Closet And Jewelry Collection! (Pictures & Video)

So I've been promising The Hubs I would clean up our closet (my side mostly) and the chaotic mess that was my jewelry and hair accessories collection! Our room usually comes last one the list of chores and ends up never being cleaned as often as the rest of the house. So a couple weeks ago I decided to take on our room (the closet mainly) FIRST. So I could be sure to get it done! This first keek is a quick video "tour" of my side of the closet and my jewelry/hair accessory collection.

Right now, most all my jewelry sits on top of my dresser, we will get to more detailed photos below. I just wanted to say that, the little necklace holder you see is something The Hubs made me one day when I told him I needed a necklace holder on the wall! He sort of just went to his shop (our detached garage) found some random items to use and put together this neat necklace hanger for me. He even put it on a hinge so that it can come out and I can see my necklaces closer! You can see how it comes off the wall in this photo on my instagram.
So here is my side of the closet. And even though my clothes look messy in the photo, they really are organized. I used to organize by color, I just thought it looked prettier. But then I was like 'Aint nobody got time fo' dat!" Also, yes I use old shoe boxes to organize things like tights, swim wear, my bras and belts!
Shoes, shoes, shoes, shoes. These are most of my shoes...At least the ones I wear most often. Most of my shoes are from payless, but some are from target, forever21 and Ross of course!

And now a closer look at my jewelry and hair accessories. If you are curious at all about the jewelry/earring stand, yes The Hubs and I made it, and you can find the tutorial for that by clicking here.

The strawberry jar holding my rings, was something I hand painted years ago. I used to have a thing for strawberries (Because I loved the cartoon/doll Strawberry Shortcake and collected her items too).

Unicorn Farts Lip Balm is from Long Winter Soap Co.
Some of this rings I made myself, some are from premier designs, and that pink rose ring is from Annabell & Louise Designs.
Fabric covered button earrings c/o My Life As Mindy.
Shown below:
Knotietie Bands
Hand Stamped Wrap Bracelet: Jessica N Designs
DIY Seed Bead Heart Necklace
DIY Rosette Statement Necklace

I absolutely love my collection of Colorful Annabell & Louise Designs wooden earrings!
Most are c/o, but a few I purchased myself, because I love them THAT much!
The triangle cheetah print ones are from Oh Dani Girl Boutique.

Both pair of Cross Earrings are from Charlotte is Cha Cha.
Color Dipped Brass Earrings c/o Acute Designs.
The rest of the earrings are a variety of some that I made and some that were gifts to me.

There are A LOT of necklaces. Most are from Premier Designs.
And there are a lot that I made myself as well.
The Blue Bubble Necklace is from Wild Butterfly Boutique.
The Pink Heart Necklace is from Apple Of My Eye Jewelry.
The Pink Bows Necklace & The Cheetah Print Pendant Necklaces are from Oh Dani Girl Boutique.
Hand Stamped Necklace is from Amanda Lynn Designs.

Lots of hair accessories! Again, some I made myself.
Some are from Just Lovely Things, The sing bows (not on a headband) are from Curious Miss Clay.
Ive got headbands from The Posh Daisy
(thought I dont think she still makes headbands, only jewelry now),
and also Vintage Wanna Bee as well!
Ive also got pretties from Mila Rose Designs,
Much Love, Illy and the clips were made by Life Created.

Ive got bracelets from (again) Premier Designs, of course some I made.
Some were purchased from a local boutique in my town.
The rest are from Creations By J Golden, Southern Side Accessories, KaiRai and Mila Rose Designs.

Awkward picture of me at Dinner, before Prom.
It makes me laugh... Im not sure what I was doing or why I was making the silly face...
But its just so me. You'll have to click & open it in a new tab to see it full size and get a good laugh. ;)
Ok and here is another video showing some of my other jewelry as well as a look on my dresser top again.
ANNNND in the video I say that the red bubble necklace was from Wilde Buffalo Boutique, and I meant Wild Butterfly Boutique. Trying to rush words in 36 secs of video time is hard!

And lastly, this is the UPDATE, since I took these photos/videos of my closet...
A solution for my headbands!

Memorial Day EOTD

Hello sweet friends, and Happy {Makeup} Monday to you, be sure to stick around and link up your beauty posts below!

Since it's Memorial Day I wanted to created a special look in honor of this day and in remembrance of our fallen heroes. I know that to a lot of people, Memorial day is just another "fun" holiday. An extra day off, and a great 3 day week end. We often lose site of what it's really all about. Remembering and honoring all Americans who have died while in Military service. I always get a little choked up when I think about it.
If you have followed my blog long enough you know that I dont talk A LOT about The Hubs on the blog, because he prefers his privacy, but I do on occasion and you might know that The Hubs served in our military, The Army to be exact. You'd also know that he was injured during one of his year long deployments in Iraq, and was medically retired. You'd also know that he lost two close friends in that war. Talking about it, still puts a lump in my throat and brings tears to my eyes... And I know its something that is still hard for The Hubs too.

I'd like to mention that, because of that The Hubs really doesn't like when people thank him today. I know a lot of people tend to want to thank our military men and women, whether active duty or veterans on Memorial Day... But the way The Hubs see's it, is this day is not HIS day (Veterans Day is "his day"). This day belongs to the ones who are no longer with us. The ones who gave their all to defend and protect our freedom. I'm not saying dont thank or be thankful for our military men & women... They deserve all kinds of thanks, love and support from us! But if you do and they seem uncomfortable about the "Thanks" today... This may be why.

We can still of course enjoy this day, because we should enjoy the freedom our service men have fought and died for! Freedom isn't free and we are beyond blessed here in America. We can remember and honor those who gave their lives by proudly displaying an American flag, visiting cemeteries or memorials and leaving flags or flowers, or sharing with our children/families about why this day is special.
For this look I wanted to create something patriotic, but not overwhelmingly so, so it wouldn't be confused with a 4th of July - Independence Day inspired look. I wanted something that was specific to Memorial Day, so I went with a darker more  bold look with a pop patriotism.

So for this look I used My Beauty Addiction Mineral Shadows in:
Black - Lid
Red Hot - Lining Top Lashes & on Lower Lash line
Pearl - Lower Lash Line
Royal - Lower Lash Line
French Vanilla - Inner Corner & Brow Bone
Twinkle Dust Gold - Lid to Brow Bone

(I turned Red Hot into a liquid liner for my top lashes using MBA's wetliner foiling serum)

All of these shadows were used with MBA Shadow Poxy, and can be found at My Beauty Addiction:
