Somethin' 'Bout A Girl In A Red Sun Dress

Ive been listening to a lot of Country music lately... And whenever I wear this dress I think of that song Somethin' 'Bout A Truck. And then I feel like dancing! Its such a fun dress that makes me feel pretty and flirty. Which The Hubs loves. Ha! Plus I don't know what it is, but I love wearing the color red. Sure, my favorite color is green and you will most likely catch me wearing pink & black... But I love how I look in red. Maybe its the Mexican in me. :)

What are your favorite colors to wear? What makes you feel pretty and flirty?

What I'm Wearing:
Dress: Maurices
Heels: Maurices
Red Heart Bangle: Creations By J. Golden

EOTD With Urban Decay's Ammo Palette

Recently I purchased a couple Urban Decay palettes via Hautelook at a majoryly discounted price. If you are familiar with my blog, you probably already know this, but I am mentioning it again because Urban Decay will be on Hautelook again today starting at 8 am PST! Sooo If you have been wanting to get your hands on some UD products without spending a lot of money, definitely check out Hautelook!!

For today's eye of the day I am using Urban Decay's Ammo Palette, in the colors:
'Mildew' on lid and lower lashes
'Smog' in the crease
'Oil Slick' on outer corners
'Maui Wowie' & 'Polyester Bride' blended as high light on brow bone and inner corner.

I love this palette, the shadows are rich and creamy and make for perfect smokey eyes. The color variety is great too. I definitely recommend this palette, more so than the Deluxe Palette.

Urban Decay Eye Shadow 'Fishnet' Dupe

Hello Beauty Babes! Welcome back to Makeup Monday!
I am so glad you are here, and hope you have lots of beats post to link up below. ♥
Today I have a dupe to share with you! My first duplicate find ever.

Recently I got an Urban Decay Palette on sale via hautelook, and after swatching the colors I noticed that one seemed very familiar. The shadow Fishnet, a pink shadow with a purple shift. I instantly knew it reminded me of My Beauty Addiction's shadow Paparazzi, so I had to swatch Fishenet and Paparazzi together to see how similar they were. Here are the results!
They are pretty darn close to being exactly the same! The UD shadow is a bit darker in color than MBA's, but they both give the same fun color shift effect that I love. Its so hard to capture on camera how neat these colors are, but I tried in several lighting situations below, so you can get an idea. But wow... They are very close in color, right!? And the price difference if you were to buy the single shadows.... $18 for Urban Decay vs. only $5 for My Beauty addiction!! So if you are looking for a fun pink/purple shadow, I definitely recommend MBA!

Affordable Fashion - Surprising Finds

You know I'm ALL about affordable fashion, and that is spot on with today's outfit. How adorable is this dress!? Can you believe it is a WALMART find!? It totally doesn't seem like anything from Walmart, so I was so surprised when I saw it there. It was so random too, didn't look like it belonged! There were only 3 of them, and then 2 in blue just hanging on a rack with a bunch of shirts. It was only $10, so I obviously snatched up a pink one quick. ♥ Love it!

Have you come across any surprising affordable finds lately?

What I'm Wearing:
Black Lace Bandeau: Walmart
Dress: Walmart
Belt: Kintage
Lace Tights: Groop Dealz
Heels: Payless

Transformation Tuesday - Samantha

Hello friends, welcome back to another Transformation Tuesday!
This series will be a "Before and After" photo of someone I do a makeup make over on! I dont know about you. but I am always fascinated by before and after makeup photos.

One of the main reasons I decided to start this little series is because I have gotten several requests in the past about showing my makeup looks on someone with different color hair or eyes. This way you all can get a better idea of what my makeup looks might look like on you or someone with similar features or hair/eye colors as you! And I think that is a fabulous idea. ♥
Today's "transformation" is on my beautiful baby sister Samantha! Sammy really loves makeup, but says she struggles with "doing it right". She has smaller or maybe shorter eye lids... So she has a hard time doing her eye makeup to wear it shows and doesn't make her eyes look smaller.
Since Sammy and I have the same color eyes I decided to do a subtle smokey eye in browns/purples, because I believe those colors look best on green/hazel eyes. I used My Beauty Addiction Eye Shadows in: Shimmering Sand
Smoke & Mirrors
Wicked &
French Vanilla.
(You can see a photo of this same EOTD look on me here and video here.)

I brought up the shadow a little higher than her actual crease, to give an appearance of wider lids and bigger eyes. And her eye lashes are STUNNING and naturally so long, but we also did my mascara trick to make them look even longer and really make her eyes stand out!

I did her full face using the following products:
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB in Medium
e.l.f. Mineral Blemish Powder
Physicians Formula Happy Boost Blush
The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer
e.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set
Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara
e.l.f. Liquid Liner (Black)
Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil

All of the shadows were used with MBA Shadow Poxy, and can be found at My Beauty Addiction:

I hope you are all enjoying this new series!
I definitely thinks its so much fun doing makeup for others, and sharing the results. ♥

Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment Review

Recently I received this Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment, c/o Harrods to review. Surprisingly I have actually never tried anything from Clinique! But I have a thing for lip balms and lip treatments, so of course I was thrilled to get to review this product!

This is what the description of the product is:
"Deeply hydrating balm that helps to repair distressed lips and replenishes moisture loss. Contains a combination of naturally-derived ingredients to help condition, repair and prevent dry, flaky lips. Increases the skin's natural ability to rebuild and renew skin, thereby, improving the overall density of the lip skin. When applied regularly, over time, there will be a noticeable difference in the firmness, cushion and texture of the lips."

Now you all know how much I LOVE Carmex lip balm for mega healing, its always been my favorite!
So I was very intrigued to see how well this works and compares to my beloved Carmex.

What I found interesting about this Clinique suberbalm lip treatment, is that it is not waxy like most lip balms. Its is very thick and more like a lip gloss!  So I was a little skeptical on how well it would work.

Another thing that I actually love about Carmex is that medicated tingly feeling you get when you wear it. This stuff doesn't tingle at all.... Again, that made me a little skeptical.

Still I added it into my lip routine, putting it on before bed, and before working out. I like to put lip balm on before bed, because I find it helps moisturize my lips longer since I'm not talking or eating. And you know what? I wake up with it STILL on my lips! I think because it is more like a thick gloss it really has some staying power. As far as working out, I'm really breathing hard and my lips tend to dry out fast, so it helps keep them nice and moist.

My over all thoughts.... I really like this stuff! It really DOES work for repairing lips. As I said before, I was skeptical. Its different from most lip balms that I am used to... But it works. See, my lips ALWAYS dry out fast and peel, no matter what I do. I have no idea why my lips get so bad. And then I have the bad habit of picking at and peeling my chapped lips... So usually I try to do a lip scrub to try to prevent that, and then use Carmex to heal. And that works well and keeps my lips smooth and soft, as long - as I am using it. Since I have been using this Clinique Superbalm, (about a month now) I have noticed my lips STAYING soft and smooth, no peeling at all! So I definitely recommend, especially if you have dry peeling or flaky lips.

Princess Mulan Inspired Makeup Look

The day have finally come to wrap up the Disney Princess Inspired Makeup Series! Mulan was a hard one for me and I wanted it to be good. ♥ I finally found a photo of her that I liked. The colors she is wearing are kind of random, but I liked them together and thought they would make for an interesting eye look.

I had so much fun with this series and am looking forward to starting a NEW series.. The Disney Villians inspired Makeup Series! ♥ I will probably start that in the Fall though. So be on the lookout for that, and be sure to comment with YOUR favorite Disney Villian.
The colors I used to create this look are:
Shooting Star - Shimmery White, used on lid (and as a high light to brow bone and inner corner).
Show Stopper - Pink  used on crease.
Fire Cracker - Red, used on outer corner.
Navy - dark blue, used on lower lash line and blended up to outer corner on top lip with fire cracker to make a purple color.

All of these shadows were used with Shadow Poxy, and can be found at My Beauty Addiction:
Here is a live view of this look:

And just because... Here is a video of me singing Reflection:
