Hello, hello sweet friends. I am SO glad you are here today... And I hope you will be glad you stopped by, even though Ive got some "tough love" kind of encouragement for you today.
If you are a regular here, you know I am on a weight loss journey, and have been completely open and honest about this journey. Ive had many ups and downs. Lots of progress, some plateaus, and even a couple back slides! But all in all, I have worked HARD to get to where I am today. Sometimes I cannot believe I have come so far. I think back to when I first started and how it seemed like the weight loss would never happen. But it has, I am proud of my progress, and I never want to go back to my old way of living. I love working out, and cant imagine life with out it now. My friends... I still LOVE to eat, but I'm more careful about what I eat, and especially HOW MUCH I eat. If you want to lose weight, get fit and be healthy it takes both exercise and smart food choices.
I feel like saying all that seems so obvious... And some of you may be reading this thinking "duh". But the reason I am writing about this today is because I STILL get people asking me "how did you do it", "what is your secret", "What can I do!?".... Seriously... I wish I had some special secret or magic pill that made this all happen over night with no effort. But that is just not reality.
What it took was hard work! Patience. Never giving up! Accountability. Time. And NO EXCUSES.
Everyone has an excuse. And sweet friends, I am not putting you down or judging any one of you! That was me too. I wanted the magic over night easy secret too! I wished it wasn't so hard. I could think of all kinds of excuses or reasons why I was so heavy and couldn't do anything about it. But the cold hard truth was that I LOVED to EAT...A LOT. And I HATED to move. When you are heavy, moving, running, any kind of exercise is UNCOMFORTABLE! Its hard to move. You get tired fast. You've got flab and fat giggling all about. And it feels embarrassing. I KNOW... I have been there. It feels awful, AT FIRST. But then it gets better, and I promise you its worth it!
You probably already know I do Zumba. I do Zumba 5 days a week! If you dont know what Zumba is, its a SUPER fun workout class, where you DANCE! And wow, it makes you sweat! But it is amazing how much it works to tone your entire body. I LOVE it. It sure beats walking on a treadmill or elliptical for an hour! Anyways... I wanted to tell you all about my Morning Zumba class. The class is made up of women AND men, all different ages AND sizes! The night class is even bigger, with an even bigger variety of people too. But the reason why I wanted to talk about my morning class is because of one specifically inspiring women in the group. Sis, pictured below, who recently just turned 90 years old! No joke. I love it! Wow, I mean... Talk about NO excuses! I hope that when I am 90 I will still be bustin' some Zumba moves!!
(My apologies for the blurriness of the picture, but I took it right after class and was still pretty shaky! I had a better one, but I accidentally deleted it! *face palm*)

So my friends, I ask you... What is YOUR excuse!? What are you letting stop you from getting into shape? If you are seriously about making a change, you can do it! Don't let anything stop you.... Age, Time, Weight, Money.... NO excuses! There is always SOMETHING you can do to workout, even if you dont go to a gym. There is always SOME time you can fit a little exercise in. Simply changing what you eat and how much you eat alone can make a HUGE difference. It doesn't matter how big or small you are, or how old you are. Stick to it! YOU GOT THIS, friend! I believe in you! No excuses.
Much Love & Hugs,

You have done amazing! And you look great, so congratulations! Right now I am almost 3 months into my weight loss journey, down 23 pounds and I am feeling great. But I have 39 more to go! Reading blogs like yours are really encouraging and helpful! If I can help even one person in return, I'd feel great about it!
