How To Find Your True Skin Tone - Infographic

With the New Year here, resolutions are being made by the boatload. Perhaps you've even made a few of your own - lose those last five pounds, get the garage finally organized, or cook healthier meals. Whatever your resolutions, the common theme among them all is typically one of self-betterment.

A fresh year is as if you've been given the chance to start over in certain areas that may have fallen by the wayside. If you're hoping to greet 2014 with optimism and excitement, why not start by giving yourself a fresh look? This doesn't, however, mean you need to spend hundreds of dollars on a new wardrobe or expensive beauty products. All it involves is a white piece of paper and a few minutes of natural sunlight.

This infographic from Fair and Flawless shows that finding your true skin tone is one of the easiest ways to let your natural beauty shine. When you discover your skin tone, you're better able to choose colors and clothes which complement that, as well as determine which ones to stay away from. This New Year, make your first resolution your simplest by finding your skin tone.

  1. I love this! My home ec teacher (am I telling my age there?) showed the girls in our class our seasons, and I am undoubtedly a "Winter" ~ dark brown hair and very fair skin. If I wear beige, I look like I have a disease; it's very obviously not my color. But jewel tones definitely work, as do most "pure" colors like white, black, and red. Thanks for sharing this infographic!

  6. I've struggled to find my colours for a while with this sort of assessment - I have light olive skin, dark ashen brown hair, soft blue eyes, yellow tone and blue veins, and of the colours on the seasons board I could wear Spring 1, 2 and 3, summer 1, 2 and 4, autumn 2 and 3, and winter 1, 3 and 4. I could also wear a lot of the "don'ts" section including all of spring's, summer's 1, 2 and 4, autumn's 3 and 4 and winter's 1, 3 and 4. I can basically wear pretty much anything - but none of it looks really GREAT on me unless I've dyed my hair a certain way or am wearing contacts. Does this sound like anything you've seen before?

  8. A NOTE to Easter Bunny - please take a HINT! All your comments are going to spam now - as that is what you are doing - SPAMING this post. THIS was a GUEST POST. And I will NOT have negativity on a post that is not my own. Thank you.

    Please also note -
It was made as a general guide to help others. It is not the Holy Law of Skin Tones and colors - so it should not be taken so seriously. It may work for some and may not work for others. It obviously doesnt work for you and guess what!? Thats ok. What is not ok if for you to leave blatantly RUDE and MEAN comments on this post. I will NOT allow that. And YES your negative posts WILL NOT be posted.

It has always been my own opinion that there really are no TRUE rules to makeup and colors. Or at least there shouldn't be. I say if you like it - wear it. If you dont, then dont! If you feel confident in what you wear and the colors you like then rock them! No one should tell anyone what they HAVE to wear or should ONLY wear. And this post certainly doesn't force people to only do what it says. Its meant to help as a general guide. As there are some people who do like a guide to help them find things that may suit them best.

Obviously, no one is exactly the same. We are all made different and unique. Sure overall there is an average of things that work for almost everyone. But again - they dont work for all. Like this guide doesnt work for you. The beauty "industry" it tends to be a "one size/shade/product" fits all mind set - We know that is not true. Still this is something that CAN help others in general.

So with all that being said - calm yourself down. Its not that serious. Ok? Now, if you would like to state your opinion in a courteous fashion - considering this is the work of another - not mine. Then I will allow it. Until then - all your comments will go to spam. And honestly - who has the time to keep coming back to re-comment the same thing almost every day as you have. I am sure there are much better uses for that kind of time and dedication. You should use it wisely. And thank you so much for respecting my guest bloggers here.
