Mia Mariu's Create Your Perfect Canvas Review, Demo + Giveaway

Hello beauty babes, and welcome back to my blog! Today I have another review for you of Mia Mariu's Create Your Perfect Canvas Makeup set, as well as a demo of myself using the product so you can really get an understanding of what I am talking about here in this review... And if you like what you see, you can also enter to win the complete set for yourself! The set includes the Perfecting Finish Mineral Primer, a Perfecting Finish Mineral Cream Concealer, and a Perfecting Finish Mineral Foundation.
The Perfecting Finish Mineral Primer ($20): creates a smooth facial canvas allowing the foundation to glide on seamlessly, leaving a fresh natural look that lasts all day.  Our Mineral Primer is power packed with antioxidants and vitamins to give your skin a healthy glow.  Your skin will love you for it!  Oil free.

My Thoughts: This primer is very different from most primers I have tried that are thicker with a "gel" like consistency. This primer is a lot more fluid, like a moisturizer and to me felt like it went from a liquid to powder on my skin. I really enjoyed that, to me felt nice, leaving my skin soft and smooth and perfectly primed.

The Perfecting Finish Mineral Cream Concealer ($16): is an oil-free, vitamin packed, high intensity formula that effectively covers imperfections like dark spots, discoloration and blemishes for a perfect and even tone.  The Mineral Cream Concealer is perfectly balanced to match your skin tone without leaving ash tones or a chalky look.

My Thoughts: This concealer is true to description with it being a perfect match for my skin tone. For that reason, this concealer is PERFECT for covering any kind of blemish or dark / red spots around the face! Although I only really use concealer for the dark circles under my eyes, and even though this does do a nice job concealing my dark circles, I am used to a brightening concealer to lighten up my eyes. So it was different for me, and I felt the skin under eyes looked a little dull. However, this is just personal preference for ME! What I loved about this concealer, though, is that even with it being a cream, it wasn't too heavy at all. It didn't weigh down the skin under my eyes or even crease at all, which was nice.

The Perfecting Finish Mineral Foundations ($19-25): come in three formulas:  Liquid, Cream and Loose Powder.  They deliver oil-free, luminous all day coverage while providing the benefits of natural minerals and vitamins.  Each Mineral Foundation reduces the appearance of pores to obtain a perfectly matched radiant tone.  Enjoy a flawless all day refined finish!

My Thoughts: I chose the liquid foundation. This is definitely more of a medium to full coverage foundation, depending how you apply it (I'll get to that soon). This foundation is a lot thicker than what I am used to... Especially for Summer wear. I typically stick to BB Creams or Tinted Moisturizers in the Summer. So, personally, I will use this more in (and recommend it for) the Fall and Winter.

Aside from it being so thick, I also found it to dry super quickly. So there was a learning curve for me to figure out how to best apply it, to where it didn't look caked up and dry on my already dry skin. Personally, I found the best way to apply and keep it more full coverage was to do the following:
First, apply with my finger tips all around my face (as seen in the demo video below).
Then to use a damp beauty sponge to stipple and blend it into my skin.
And, lastly go over it with rounded kabuki brush (no product added) to further buff the foundation in and pick up any excess product that may have gotten stuck in and fine lines or creases.

Another thing I tried, was mixing the foundation with a brightening moisturizer! Now doing this sheered it out to more of a medium coverage. However, mixing it with a moisturizer made it easier to apply, and gave me more blending time, without it drying too quickly on me!
Over all, learning curve aside, I think this is a great foundation system. I loved that it did minimize the appearance of pores, fine lines and even out my skin tone. As well as the fact that its long lasting... For me it lasted between 6-8 hours. It lasted longer, about 8 hours, on days where I was mostly in-doors with air conditioning. A couple days when I was wearing it outside, in the heat it only lasted about 5-6 hours before wearing off. Even still, that's pretty good, considering how hot it gets here in NorCal.
You can see in the photos above the before (when I first applied) and then after 8 hours. You can see how before my face looks a lot more even and "flawless", pores and fine lines are minimized, and then after the 8 hours you can see where it started to break up and wear off ... Mostly around my T-zone, where I tend to sweat and touch my face most. On the day these specific photos where take, I was both indoors and outdoors shopping and running errands. It was a busy day for me, so even after 8 hours and some wear off, I think my face looked pretty decent.
