Skin Authority | GO! Gorgeous Kit Review

Hello beauty babes, today I have a review for you of the GO! Gorgeous Kit ($58) that I received c/o Skin Authority. This is a kit that includes Skin Authority's "most powerful products". It includes these four personal-sized products: Daily Cleanser, Resurfacing Accelerator, Tri-Power Peptide Hydrator and Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 30. According to the site, these are the benefits of these products and this kit:
  • Powerful and portable daily skin care kit.
  • Ideal as an introduction, for travel, or for the gym.
  • Complete daily routine to help produce healthier, younger looking skin.
  • Helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Helps limit future damage and premature aging.
  • Helps brighten skin and stimulate cellular turnover.
  • Helps accelerate new cell growth and boost collagen production.
  • Provides full-spectrum protection against harmful UVA and UVB exposure.
And if all that doesn't sound amazing enough, I thought it was really neat to discover that you can also get expert skin coaching with your Skin Authority products! I know that for a lot of people trying new products (especially for your skin) can raise some questions and concerns. Its great to know that you can get the answers and guidance you may need with your skin and skin care system.

Something I would like to note before I get into the break down of the products and my thoughts is that shortly after I started using this kit, I did experience a little bit of an acne breakout. Its been quite some time (maybe a year) since I have had a break out and it came on pretty strong.

I wanted to mention this because sometimes when you try new skin care, especially ones with active ingredients that increase cell turnover - your skin may purge and "get worse, before it gets better". You just need to continue and give it time, usually about 3-6 weeks. If breakouts continue or get worse after that point, then the product is not right for you! But its good to keep this in mind, as we tend to instantly think a product is "bad" if it breaks us out once we start to use it. As for me, yes my breakout started going away. I am currently still dealing with the last of it, but it hasn't worsened.

On that note, if I had been more worried about my skin - or unfamiliar with "skin purge"... I know I could have taken advantage of the Skin Coaching provided by Skin Authority, which I already mentioned.

Daily Cleanser: "Gently cleanses the face and body. Leaves skin refreshed, soft, and prepped for a daily routine."

My Thoughts: Even though this is a good cleanser, I wasn't wow'd by it. Not sure what would really "wow" me about a cleanser, but I just kind of felt like - "ok this did its job" and that was it. Its just one very necessary step that works in partner with the rest of the products. This is a perfect cleanser for all skin types. But I think for someone who has sensitive skin, this may really stand out, because it really is very gentle, and doesn't have any fragrance or dyes.

Sunscreen Moisturuzer: "Vitamin and botanical rich daily moisturizer hydrates, nourishes, and SPF 30 protects in one simple, dry finish step."

My Thoughts: I am a big fan of sunscreen moisturizers, and this one has become a new favorite! The convenience of a 2-in-1 is my preferred choice, since most regular sunscreens really dry my skin out. And unlike most sunscreens, this one isn't greasy or oily. It absorbs beautifully and doesn't leave a white-cast either.
Resurfacing Accelerator: "Gentle action, leave-on exfoliator that helps transform skin for a firmer, smoother, and more radiant appearance."

My Thoughts: My #1 Favorite product from this kit! I truly believe Skin Authority has found the fountain of youth and is selling it as this resurfacing accelerator! When I looked in the mirror, the morning after my 2nd time using this I was shocked to see just how noticeably firmer and smoother my skin looked. I've got some fine lines forming on my forehead, that have diminished quite a bit since using this product. I am quite impressed and amazed by this product!

Something to note is that it may cause some stinging/tingling/burning feeling the first few times you use it. Though this is a typical sensation for a leave on exfoliator, I wanted to mention for those who have more sensitive skin, because the feeling is pretty intense. I have tried a few other chemical peels/exfoliators that cause the similar tinging/stinging sensation, however this one was the most intense I have experience. Good thing for me, is that I don't have sensitive skin, and I didn't mind the feeling.

Tri-Power Peptide Hydrator: "Peptide-rich moisturizer hydrates skin and firms tone for a brighter complexion and a more lifted look."

My Thoughts: This is my 2nd favorite product from this kit. I have combination, leaning more towards dry skin. So, I love (and need) a good hydrator like this for my skin. The Tro-Power Peptide Hydrator is perfection. It instantly makes my skin feel moisturized and youthful - I want to say plump - but that sounds bad. But its so good - my skin honestly feels plump with hydration. It helps with dry patches and just over all hydration and moisture for my skin. ♥

Overall this is a great kit! Its a very easy routine, yet provides everything you need; Clean skin, sun protection, hydration as well as a more youthful appearance! Since the products in this kit are "personal-size" its perfect for traveling or going to the gym, or simply as an introductory kit to Skin Authority products. A little bit goes a long way with each of these products, so they will last you some time. I have been using them for a month now and still have enough product to probably last me another month.

I hope you enjoyed this review and found it helpful! Click the link for more info on the GO! Gorgeous Kit. And please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. ♥

SkinnyMint Inspired Makeup Look + First Impression!

Hello beauty babes and welcome! I am thrilled you popped in today because I have something kind of fun to share with you. I recently started the SkinnyMint 28 day teatox program. This product was sent to me for review, so I thought it would be a good idea to share my first impression on it so far. Then I will follow up with any results I might have once I have completed the program!

As of writing this, I am just under 2 weeks into the program. SO I do have a bit of info to share for my first impression, but I will get to that in a moment. I also thought it would be fun to incorporate a makeup look inspired by the adorable SkinnyMint packaging! ♥ Many of you may already know I am a sucker for packaging as well as hearts. So I just couldn't resist. Keep reading for all the details.
A little bit about SkinnyMint 28 Day Teatox Program from their website:
This program works to detox your body to help you to reach your health goals. It is expertly formulated with all natural high-performing ingredients. The program contains 2 steps, Morning Boost Tea and the Night Cleanse Tea.

Morning Boost
DRINK EVERY MORNING
A special formulation of guarana, Green Tea & Yerba Mate to create a fruity and fresh tea blend.
Expertly created to maximize naturally occurring vitality boosting ingredients.

Night Cleanse
DRINK EVERY 2ND NIGHT
A special Night Time formulation of Ginger root, Lemongrass, Senna leaves, and Psyllium husk, combined to purify and detox the body.
I was instantly intrigued and excited to try this teatox program, as I have never done one before. Plus its always nice to discover something that could help me in my health, fitness and weight-loss goals. Now, even though I have read some reviews saying this product helped people lose weight, as far as I know there are not any claims from the company promising weight loss specifically. But here is some info via their FAQ "Teatoxing helps you to boost your metabolism, flush out toxins, reduce bloating and burn fat." So with that in mind I was excited to see what happens when I incorporate this program into my typical fitness routine. Which for me is typically working out at the gym 2 hours a day, 3 days a week.

Unfortunately for me though that ended up not being able to happen.... If you happen to follow me on snapchat or my personal instagram page, you might have seen that I injured my leg. I tore a muscle in my calf, to be more specific, and I have not been able to really use that leg. :( Super huge bummer for me. This ended up happening the day after I received my SkinnyMint package in the mail. So, without being able to get any full on cardio workouts in (I've still been trying to do some arm workouts at home) this gave me a new opportunity. The chance to see what the SkinnyMint Teatox could do for me on its own, in a way.

I say "in a way" because I decided to be doing my best to eat right and make healthy food choices as well as portion sizes. Of course I am always trying my best to eat "right". However I tend to be a little more lax when I am keeping up with regular exercise. If you are familiar with me and my weight-loss journey at all, you know that I have admitted to having a food addiction. And its something I still struggle with now and then. So whats great right now about not being able to exercise (always try to find the brighter side) is that I can focus more on making healthier food choices. Drinking the SkinnyMint tea is a very nice reminder of that as well.
Alrighty, enough with the back story... Lets move on to my first impressions! ;)

The Morning Boost is delicious with a subtly sweet fruity taste. I am not big on drinking tea, I typically prefer my (very sweetened) cup of coffee in the morning. However I can drink the morning boost all on its own and still enjoy it. Though some days I will add a little honey if I am craving a little more sweetness. I'll admit, a few days I still craved my coffee... So I had both my tea & coffee in the morning. Yikes! haha Though, what I can say for the days I just had the tea - it was definitely enough for a boost of energy in the morning. It does have caffeine in it. :) I also definitely have noticed a suppressed appetite.

The Night Cleanse has a much stronger spicy kind of flavor, which I honestly do not enjoy on its own. But good spoonful of honey really helps the taste for me. Another idea to help the taste is maybe adding a slice of lemon or other fruit to sweeten it up. The night cleanse contains natural ingredients that "may have a mild laxative effect". Which it did have that effect on me, nothing extreme, just very helpful.

Over all first impressions are great! And surprise surprise - with just under 2 weeks into it, I have actually lost 2 pounds... Which really did surprise me to no end, considering I have not been to the gym in all that time. So I am excited and hopeful to discover the full results once this program is complete. ♥
Last but not least, let me give you the details on this makeup look! I used all MBA Cosmetics Products and as usual you can use my code AGAPELOVE15 if you'd like to make a purchase and save a little cash.

Pressed Shadows: Dewdrops, Afterparty, Rumors and Halo.
Loose Shadows: Blushy
Glitter: Obsession + Glitz Fix to create the heart!
False Lashes: Babydoll
HD Lip Paint: Strawberry Ice
Alright beauty babes, I hope you enjoyed this post and found it fun and helpful! I'd love to know if you have ever tried a teatox before, and how it worked for you. ♥ And if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

*NEW* Model Co Lash + Line Review & Demo

Hello beauties and welcome! Today I have a review and (video) demo to share with you of the new Lash+Line Superlash Mascara and Liquid Liner from Model Co. Many thanks to Model Co for sending me this product to review. ♥ As you can see from the photos, this is a convenient 2-in-1 mascara and liquid eyeliner product and the price is $23.
The mascara wand is very unique, unlike any I have seen. (Be sure to check out the video for a better close up) It has a curved wand, but unlike most mascara wands that are round, this one is flat! I like it be cause if you use the thin side you can get precision in your application and coat the lower lashes quick and easy without any mess. Using the wider flat side on the upper lashes makes application a lot quicker than is typical for me. And then again if you go in with the thinner side of the wand you add a little more volume to your lashes as well.

This mascara provides what I would call subtle drama to your lashes. I don't find that it really lifts, separates and lengthens the lashes as much as other mascaras that I consider holy grail status. However it does give enough lift to get the job done. It adds volume and gives this feathery look that is really so pretty. So I wouldn't say this mascara is my favorite (just because of personal preferences - as I said, I prefer a more separated lash look) but its over all a great mascara that I really like.
The liner I find to be somewhat unique as well. Unlike most liquid liners (that you would dip into product) with a brush tip, this one has a felt tip. Which I absolutely LOVE! You get the precision of a felt tip liner (which usually comes in a pen form), with the pigmentation of a brush/dip liquid liner. This is awesome in my opinion because I typically use felt tip liners on the daily. I prefer them specifically for the more precise look and line you can get with them versus a brush tip. However I do find that with a felt tip, you can sometimes loose pigmentation when trying to apply over shadows.... So you end up either having to apply twice or just not having a very black, black liner. If you get what I mean?

With this liner, though, I don't have that problem. Since you can dip the felt tip into the product you can get more saturation and a nice dark pigmented black line! And on that same note, I must say this is one of the blackest liquid liners I have used. (Check out the video for comparisons) This liner is also dries quickly, is smudge proof and very long lasting!

Something else worth mentioning is the size! When I first looked at it, I thought it was so tiny it might be hard to use. Fortunately I found the opposite to be true. Because the handle is so small I find it much easier to use. I can keep a nice steady line and easily create a beautiful winged line. Which I hardly ever do - because typically I am awful at winged liner. Not with this liner though, it makes creating a wing much easier for me. I am overall very impressed with this liner!
Overall I am very impressed with this product. I absolutely love the convenience of a 2 n 1 product. And I especially love the fact that now (finally) create such pretty winged liner looks. ♥

I hope you found this review helpful - let me know if you have any questions. And please be sure to watch the video below!

I do mention a lot of what I mentioned here in this post, but I also include close ups of the product itself as well as liner comparisons and of course demonstrations of both the mascara and liner. So you can see them in action and easy to use they are!
